Mommy moment!

Okay...this has NOTHING to do with crafting!  This is a Proud Mama post!  My 16 month old daughter used the potty chair today! 

It took very little prompting.  She just decided that the potty chair is cool and she wanted to use it.  She came to me pulling on her diaper, I asked is she wanted to potty, she nodded yes...so off to big brother's Lightening McQueen potty chair we went!  YAY!  If she continues this...I just might have 2 of my 3 kids OUT of diapers by Christmas!  And that will be the best gift for me!  (Yes...I have three children under the age of 4!)

Amazing...I never thought I'd be this excited about potty chairs!  Your kids can open up new worlds to you!

Toymaking!

I'm taking some time today to cut out some wooden toys!  Since I started my little craft business, I've toyed around with several toy ideas (pun intended).  I've settled on a couple of pull-toy dogs, rolling dinosaurs (Rollisaurus, if you will), rubberband guns and rolling whale.  I really enjoy making these guys.  That's what I'm cutting out today.  After a few days of sanding, assembling, and painting they will be ready for listing on my website and in my Etsy.com shop.

Off to the scrollsaw for more cutting....

Finally!

It has taken some time to find time to get this blog up and running...but FINALLY! 

I hope to have fun with this.  I have no grand illusion that I will speak to a mass of followers...but if I can share some of my new mom and my "getting a handmade craft business up and running" experiences with one or two folks...I'll be proud.  I also hope to connect with other crafters by adding a "Feature Crafter/Artist" section...that will come a bit later.

I know this will be a learning experience for me and through that a chance to grow.  So...here's to a new venture!  Enjoy!
